The evening

As a deadly storm shakes the forest, a desperate man seeks shelter. He finds love, but higher powers watch and judge, and Siegmund and Sieglinde’s illicit passion will have consequences on a cosmic scale. Act I of Wagner’s Die Walküre contains some of the most overwhelmingly romantic music in all opera, and many would say that this timeless tragedy of love and fate is the perfect entry point into Wagner’s epic world. On the last night of the season, Chief Conductor Ryan Wigglesworth joins three of the 21st century’s finest Wagner singers for an evening of music that immerses you in emotion: from the pageantry of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg to the unchained ecstasy of Tristan und Isolde.
